What we achieve

By integrating and upgrading methodologies of previous Interreg Med projects (GREENOMED and FinMED) and leveraging the Interreg Med Green Growth Community, GreenSmartMed will deliver a transferable methodology and toolkit aimed at enhancing transregional cooperation among quadruple helix stakeholders to create a European community exploiting innovation in green manufacturing, contributing to regional smart specialization strategies implementation and continuous adaptation, with a value chain perspective and specific focus on enabling SMEs to turn sustainability challenges into opportunities.

What we achieved so far

Based on the work done to integrate tools and methodologies from the Interreg Med finMED and GREENOMED projects, leveraging the GREEN GROWTH COMMUNITY experience (WP1), we have developed the GREENSMARTMED innovative integrated methodology and toolkit for manufacturing SMEs, and now we are following its main steps:

  1. Regional working groups’ establishment.
  2. SMEs’ capabilities assessment & financial instruments identification.
  3. SMEs’ green manufacturing cooperation activities design.
  4. Other EU Regions’ involvement & regional/transregional cooperation initiative design.
  5. Transferring & capitalization plan.

Currently, once established our regional core groups in Italy, Spain, Greece, France and Bulgaria on the 5 manufacturin sectors targeted by the project (textile, agrofood, mobility & batteries, Machinery and plastics), we are working on the implementation of the testing activies and methodology fine tuning (WP2).

In parallel, we are proceeding in our coordination with the ISE Mission Governance projects (IDP and TCP) and with the monitoring of our activities’ carbon footprint (WP3).
